Technical Specifications 

Working Principle 

The DQ50BQ-JH top drive consists of five coordinated core units: power drive module, hydraulic actuation module, electrical control module, drilling circulation & well control module, guide beam moving module.

Power Output: 600V AC power enters the VFD control house. The ABB frequency converter adjusts output frequency to drive the 450KW AC main motor. Torque is amplified by reduction box to drive the main shaft directly, realizing stepless drilling torque output from 0 to 180r/min.

Drill String Drive & Mud Circulation: The hollow main shaft allows drilling fluid to flow through the gooseneck into the central φ75mm channel and down to drill string. Motor torque is transmitted through the main shaft to the lower saver sub and drill string to perform rotary drilling and mud circulation simultaneously.

Auxiliary Hydraulic Operation: Yuken hydraulic pump matched with Wandfluh integrated valve block supplies two pressure oil circuits of 35MPa for main hydraulic system and 16MPa for auxiliary hydraulic system. It drives backup tong to clamp drill pipes for make-up & break-out, controls elevator link tilt, guide beam auto locking and IBOP opening/closing.

Well Control Protection Logic: During tripping or well control emergencies, remote upper IBOP and manual lower IBOP form double sealing to block the inner string passage and prevent high-pressure formation fluid from flowing upward for rapid well control treatment.

Unit Movement & Guidance: The top drive trolley is mounted on patented foldable guide beam and slides up and down with traveling block hook. The auto locking structure fixes the unit and counteracts drill string reaction torque to avoid top drive deflection.

Centralized Control: Signals from driller’s panel are sent to Siemens PLC cabinet. It collects real-time data including rotary speed, torque, hydraulic pressure, temperature and IBOP status, triggers automatic alarms for faults and realizes full-process intelligent monitoring.
